2 Day Introduction to Hand Building

 

January 24th & 25th, 2026

9:00am - 6:00pm (1 hour lunch break) Instruction will be given from 9:30am - 4:30pm 

Workshop will be open for students to work on their projects until 8pm.

 

$220 per person (includes GST).

This workshop is for beginners  or those with little hand building experience. The course will focus on learning basic hand building techniques, slab building, coiling, wrapping around, pinch pots, pre-texturing slabs and carving.  All of these techniques can be used to create functional or sculptural work.

To secure your place, a 50% deposit is required at the time of registration, with the balance owing before or on the first day of the workshop.  All deposits are non-refundable.  A 90%  refund will only be provided if there is another student able to take your place.

 

 WHAT TO BRING

Please bring with you a suitable apron or coveralls, a towel and any tools that you may already have.  Clay, equipment and additional tools needed for the workshop will be provided. Finished work will be charged for after firing, by weight, size and type of clay used.
