5 Day Hand Building & Sculpture Workshop:

August 10th - 14th, 2026

9:00am - 6:00pm (1 hour lunch break) Instruction will be given from 9:30am - 4:30pm

Workshop will be open to students working on their projects until 8pm.

 

$570 per person (includes GST).  

 

​​​The theme for this workshop is " Ceramic Transcription".  During this week, the student will be challenged with a selection of sculptural projects, including 2 half days with a live model. Main Project: 

Each student will be asked to research a painting of their choice by an international, well know artist dead or alive to create a sculpture inspired by their chosen painting.  This may require sketchbook work or small sketches in clay (maquette) before you arrive at the workshop.  Please contact David for additional information.

WHAT TO BRING

​

Bring photos of your chosen "masterpiece" painting along with any drawings, photos and general research for the initial development stage of the workshop.

Please bring with you a suitable apron or coveralls, a towel and any tools that you may already have.  Clay, equipment and additional tools needed for the workshop will be provided. Finished work will be charged for after firing, by weight, size and type of clay used.
