2 Day Hand Building and Decorating with

Heath and Victoria from Shprixieland Pottery ​

 

September 19th & 20th, 2026

9:00am - 6:00pm (1 hour lunch break) Instruction will be given from 9:30am - 4:30pm

Workshop will be open to students to work on their projects until 8pm.

 

$290 per person (includes GST).

This intermediate hand-building workshop will focus on the design and construction of slab-built forms and a variety of surface detail techniques.  Beginning with template design and creation, we will then move on to working with slabs ( shaping, joining, altering, supporting, etc) creating multi-part forms, masking, layering of texture for ornate surfaces decoration.

Heath and Victoria are the pottery "dynamic duo" behind ShprixieLand Studios.  For over 20 years the've been making colourful, richly ornate pottery in their home studio in Boswell on the east coast shore of Kootenay Lake.

 WHAT TO BRING

Please bring with you a suitable apron or coveralls, a towel and any tools that you may already have.  Clay, equipment and additional tools needed for the workshop will be provided. Finished work will be charged for after firing, by weight, size and type of clay used.
